Job summary

Comate, a Leuven-based high-tech hardware developer, is seeking a Finance Manager to join on a part-time basis (up to 80%). You will be a trusted business partner to the CEO and management, closely aligned with numbers, projects and people.

You will own end-to-end accounting, financial reporting and core processes, plus budgets, forecasts and multi-year plans, while ensuring Belgian GAAP compliance and a robust internal control framework.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Applied Economic Sciences or equivalent.
• At least 10 years in finance, with 6 years in a management role.
• Experience leading a small finance team.
• Experience in a project-driven environment (engineering, consultancy, or technical services).
• Strong knowledge of Belgian accounting, tax and VAT regulations.
• Fluent in Dutch with strong English proficiency.
• Experience in private equity is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, and core processes.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, rolling forecasts, and multi-year plans.
• Analyze revenue, margins, cash flow, and project profitability.
• Manage liquidity, working capital, and financing structures.
• Optimize financial processes in a project-driven organisation.
• Coordinate tax and VAT filings and ensure compliance.
• Drive automation and internal controls; document procedures.
• Participate in management as a business partner with data-driven insights.
