Tiense Suikerraffinaderij in Merksem is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day production, coordinate maintenance and supply chain activities, and drive capital projects in a modern food-production environment.

You will coach team leaders and operators, promote safety, quality and operational excellence, and foster continuous improvement with a strong, collaborative mindset across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in a manufacturing environment with maintenance and continuous improvement experience

Description du poste

Tiense Suikerraffinaderij has 6 locations in Belgium and the Netherlands, each location has its own specialty. The factory in Merksem specialises in the production of candy sugars and syrups, better known under the Candico brand, and has always played an important role in the history of sugar production. To reinforce our team we are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Operations Manager who will lead production operations, inspire and develop the team and ensure the efficient coordination of production, maintenance, supply chain activities and investment projects.

• Managing the day‑to‑day production operations of the manufacturing plant.

You should also possess the following qualifications and experiences:

• Master degree in Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Bio-Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering), or equivalent through experience.
• At least 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, experience with maintenance management and continuous improvement methodologies is a strong asset.
• Proven experience in managing teams with strong coaching and motivational skills.
• Good knowledge of safety regulations and food safety standards.
• A collaborative mindset and a strong team-player attitude.
