Spektrum is seeking a seasoned Network and Systems Engineer to support NATO NCIA projects within the BICES NATO HQ Element. You will lead or contribute to technical activities in a multinational environment, focusing on secure, integrated LAN/WAN, VPNs, and VoIP/VTC deployments.

The role requires a university ICT degree, 6+ years in network engineering, and CCNA; CCNP or ITIL familiarity is a plus. On-site work in Brussels with occasional travel may be expected.

Qualifications

• University degree in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) or related discipline is required.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in Network and Systems Engineering.
• At least 3 years' experience designing and managing large LAN/WAN deployments.
• Experience designing networks operating at classified levels with cryptographic overlays (VPN).
• Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent experience.
• Ability to monitor and plan ICT services within CIS contexts.
• Familiarity with ITIL methodologies and implementation.
• Advanced Cisco training toward CCNP Enterprise/Collaboration is a plus.
• Experience with VRF-based network virtualization.
• Experience with security accreditation for classified CIS within NATO and multinational programs.

The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO's member countries and its partners. The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

The NCIA provides a wide range of services, including:

• Cyber Security: The NCIA provides advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO's communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.
• Command and Control Systems: The NCIA develops and maintains the systems used by NATO's military commanders to plan and execute operations.
• Satellite Communications: The NCIA provides satellite communications services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.
• Electronic Warfare: The NCIA provides electronic warfare services to support NATO's mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.
• Information Management: The NCIA manages NATO's information technology infrastructure, including its databases, applications, and servers.

Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS)

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO’s principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V.

To provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain high performance-engaged workforce. The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categorise's: NATO International Civilians (NIC)'s, Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC)'s. The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.

• Embedded in multidisciplinary project teams, the incumbent either leads or contributes to the technical project activities in coordination with other project managers.
• As a member of a team of engineers, contractors, and consultants, the incumbent plays a critical role in shaping and delivering future capabilities for the BICES NATO HQ Element.

EssentialSkills,Experienceand Certifications

• Possess auniversitydegree or an equivalent level of qualification in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) or another related discipline;
• Have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in the field of Network and Systems Engineering;
• Possess at least 3 years of experience in implementing and managing complex and extended Local and Wide Area Networks (LAN/WAN);
• Possess at least 3 years of experience in designing networks which areoperatingat classified level, including a cryptographic overlay (e.g. Virtual Private Network - VPN) using IP encryptors;
• Possess a CISCO Associate certification (CCNA) qualification or equivalent;
• Possess the ability tomonitorand plan the operational parameters of ICT services, within the context of a CIS.
• Familiarity with of best practices such as ITILmethodologyand implementation;
• Extended CISCO Network training - leading to a qualification equivalent with a CISCO Professional (CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Collaboration, etc.) certificate;
• Experience in designing and implementing networks using virtualisation technology such as Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF);
• Experience in security certification and accreditation for classified CIS within NATO and Multinational programmes;
• Familiarity with BICES systems and procedures;
• Experience working in a multinational environment
