Craftzing Group NV in Belgium is seeking a freelance senior .NET/C# software engineer to design, build and launch digital platforms. You will architect scalable, high-performance .NET applications and take ownership of robust software solutions in a hybrid work environment.

You will lead technical directions, mentor teammates, and collaborate with clients in Agile settings. A minimum of 10 years of experience and strong C#/.NET expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of proven experience in a similar role.
• Expert in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience with CQRS for separating command and query responsibilities.
• Expert in system integration: connect components, APIs and services for a cohesive solution.
• Experience building REST/GraphQL APIs and API middleware.
• Experience with EF, LINQ and SQL Server / PostgreSQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with version control software.
• Experience in incorporating AI tooling into your workflows.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.
• You are located in Belgium.
• Experience using TypeScript in back-end environments (Node.js with NestJS, Express or Fastify).
• Experience with React and maritime product/platform development.
• Evidence of real-world projects demonstrating skills.

What you'll do:

• Architect and build scalable, high-performance .NET applications that stand up to real-world load.
• Design and implement clean, modular and efficient software solutions.
• Take ownership of the robustness and architecture of the application, designing for scalability, security and performance from the start.
• Make and defend sound architecture decisions, and anticipate how systems need to scale.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients in a hybrid work environment.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, and set the technical direction for the team.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, ensuring timely and high-quality deliveries.

Who we're looking for:

• Minimum 10 years of proven experience in a similar role
• Expert in C# and the .NET ecosystem
• Hands‑on experience with CQRS for separating command and query responsibilities
• Expert in system integration: You seamlessly connect application components, APIs, and services to create a cohesive, high‑performing solution
• Experience building REST/GraphQL APIs and writing API middleware
• Experience with Entity Framework, LINQ, and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure (App Service, Functions, Service Bus)
• Experience with version control software
• Experience in incorporating AI‑tooling into your workflows
• Familiarity with scrum and working in an agile environment
• You are a team player with good communication skills
• You are detail‑oriented with a focus on code quality and best practices
• You have a proactive problem‑solving mindset
• You have a passion for continuous learning and innovation
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus
• You are located in Belgium.
• Experience using TypeScript in back‑end environments (Node.js with NestJS, Express or Fastify)
• Experience with React
• Experience developing products and platforms for the maritime sector
• You can demonstrate your skills using a couple of real world projects
