Wlgroup is seeking an engineer to design and deploy Palantir Foundry-based data pipelines and operator tools for defence and security customers in Europe. You will collaborate with users to define what matters for situational awareness and translate it into concrete pipelines and applications.

You will work across live intelligence workflows, build widgets, and own end-to-end solutions on-site at customer facilities with occasional travel to operations centres in Europe.

Qualifications

• A strong engineering background in a technical field.
• Hands-on Palantir Foundry work is core to the role.
• Fluency in Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript, JavaScript, Bash or Go.
• Three years+ of professional software or solutions engineering experience.
• Ability to quickly learn platform architectures and data models.
• Experience with containers (Docker/Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Comfort with interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site at secure facilities.

Hybrid: remote, with trips to Mons, Belgium — three days on site every second week.
Who can apply: candidates with the right to work in the EU, and UK-based candidates.

An engineering seat on a real-time intelligence platform used by defence, national-security and NATO-aligned organisations across Europe. Small team, a great deal of ownership: an operational question arrives open-ended, and your job is to turn it into something operators genuinely rely on — in the field or in an operations centre.

The heart of the work is Palantir Foundry. You design the pipelines, the ontology and the applications that bring live intelligence together with the customer's own operational data — sensor feeds, asset and unit positions, mission context — and you own the result from the first sketch on a whiteboard to a system people depend on.

What you would be doing

• Sitting with defence and security users to understand what matters most to them in situational awareness and force protection, then scoping solutions against it.
• Designing, building and deploying on Palantir Foundry — data pipelines, ontology models and operator-facing applications.
• Bringing live intelligence into the workflows, common operating pictures and command-and-control tooling already in use, so that people with very different information needs each receive what is relevant to their mission.
• Building and tuning custom widgets where that is what the user actually needs.
• Owning solutions end to end, with little supervision and sound technical judgement of your own.
• Debugging across the whole stack — infrastructure, networking, application — often in restricted, disconnected or on-premise settings.
• Being the technical adviser the customer's engineers and operators trust, and carrying their feedback back into the product.
• Travelling to customer sites and operations centres in Europe, roughly a quarter to three quarters of the time.

What you would bring

• A strong engineering background — computer science, software engineering, mathematics, physics or something equally technical.
• Hands-on Palantir Foundry work: pipelines, ontology, Compute Modules, Code Repositories and Workbooks, application development. This one is core to the role.
• Fluency in at least one of Python, Java, SQL, TypeScript or JavaScript, Bash, Go.
• Three years or more of professional software or forward-deployed / solutions engineering, shipping systems into production.
• The knack of picking up an unfamiliar platform architecture and data model quickly, and of reasoning about how a technical decision lands on the operator.
• Containers (Docker or Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes or OpenShift), with solid Linux, networking and on-premise fundamentals.
• Ease with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike, and with objectives that shift as the mission does.
• Willingness to travel and to work on site in secure customer facilities.

Nice to have

• Software delivered in classified, air-gapped or otherwise disconnected environments.
• A background supporting defence, intelligence, national-security or emergency-management work.
• Geospatial platforms and common-operating-picture tooling (Esri, ArcGIS), or command-and-control systems.
• Front-end frameworks, and data-rich applications built for operators.
• A feel for how NATO and national defence customers handle accreditation and compliance.
• A second European language.
