Job summary

Synctiv Recruitment is seeking a Medior Information Security Engineer in Leuven on a freelance basis. You will analyze risks, perform security assessments on web apps and APIs, and advise on secure coding practices while collaborating with stakeholders to improve policies.

The role requires 2+ years in cybersecurity analysis, scripting experience (Python/Bash), and familiarity with cloud security and log analysis. Optional SCA/SAST/DAST experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or related field.
• 2+ years in an IT technical role, ideally cybersecurity focusing on analysis and threat detection.
• Security Champion experience for a specific technology is a plus.
• Knowledge of common web vulnerabilities (XSS, CSRF) and secure coding practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
• Perform security assessments on web applications and APIs.
• Identify and report vulnerabilities such as XSS and CSRF.
• Advise development teams on secure coding practices.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement security policies.
• Optional: Conduct SCA, SAST & DAST scans.
• Analyze log data to identify anomalies and potential threats.
• Develop data-driven security strategies and incident response plans.
• Investigate security incidents and perform forensic analysis.
