ADB SAFEGATE is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop airfield lighting products and mechanical systems from concept through commercialization. You will design, simulate, and document components, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and supporting lifecycle maintenance.

You will collaborate in a cross‑functional team, advance 3D modelling and 2D drawings, and drive tool and process improvements, with travel as needed to support global operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years (mid-level) or 8+ years (senior-level) experience as a design engineer.
• Experience with aluminium castings, plastics, sheet metal, sealed enclosures.
• Experience with failure analysis, root cause investigations, and design improvements.
• Experience with electro-mechanical systems, structural design.
• Experience in highly regulated product design environments (UL, CSA, ETL, FDA, FAA, ICAO).
• Fluent in Dutch or French and English; German is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, 2D drawings, and AutoCAD.

Responsabilités

• Execute detailed mechanical and thermal design from requirements to final product.
• Integrate light engine and electronics into products with interfaces in mind.
• Develop and enhance mechanical models for new and existing products.
• Create and maintain piece-part and assembly drawings for suppliers and production.
• Conduct static and dynamic stress simulations and thermal analysis.
• Perform verification and validation testing to improve design quality.
• Support prototype builds, certification testing, and change management procedures.
• Document findings and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
• Travel internationally <10% when required.
