Donaldson, a global leader in filtration technology, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Belgium. You will create and modify moderately complex 3D models, assemblies, and drawings to support filtration product development, translating requirements into manufacturable designs while complying with standards and customer specifications.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, driving design revisions, documentation updates, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3–6 years of CAD design experience in a manufacturing or product development environment.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD systems such as Creo, NX, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of sheet metal, injection molding, castings, machined components, and assemblies.

• Independently execute design assignments of moderate complexity.
• Interpret engineering requirements and customer specifications.
• Apply company drafting standards, modeling practices, and documentation requirements.
• Support product development projects through design revisions and documentation updates.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers, Application Engineers, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, and drawing accuracy.
• Support prototype builds and implementation of engineering changes.
• Contribute to design standardization and continuous improvement activities.
• Manage multiple assignments while meeting project deadlines.

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for creating and modifying moderately complex 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings that support the development of filtration products and systems. This role works closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into manufacturable designs while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, design guidelines, and customer requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with filtration products, mobile equipment, automotive, or industrial products.
• Knowledge of PLM systems and engineering change management.
• Exposure to prototype development and product validation processes.
• Experience working in a global engineering environment.
