Traxial, Belgium-based leader in yokeless axial flux motor technology, seeks a Mechanical and Thermal Simulations Engineer. You will lead structural FEA to assess strength, stiffness, fatigue, and thermal‑mechanical behavior while validating thermal models for motors and inverters.
You’ll develop analytical models and design tests, correlating simulations with experimental data. Experience with Ansys and Python is preferred, with strong English communication and cross‑team collaboration.

Traxial is looking for a Mechanical and Thermal Simulations Engineer to join our rapidly growing team. You will be responsible for the structural and mechanical simulation of our axial flux motors and their components, while supporting the development and validation of thermal models for our motors and inverters.This is what you'll do:
Strengthen the Simulation Team by improving our structural and mechanical simulation capabilities.
Perform structural FEA simulations to evaluate strength, stiffness, fatigue, vibration, and thermal-mechanical behavior of motor components.
Support the development and validation of thermal simulation models for axial flux motors and power electronics.
Develop analytical models to complement simulation results and support design decisions.
Design tests and prototypes required to validate analyses, and correlate simulation results with experimental data.
Perform root cause analyses of product and process issues and provide simulation driven recommendations for design improvements.
Master's degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Aerospace engineering or equivalent through experience.
Strong understanding of mechanics, structural analysis, material behavior, and FEA.
Good understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
Good understanding of multidisciplinary engineering domains, including mechanics, NVH, electromagnetics, and electrical systems.
At least three years of experience with structural FEA, experience with thermal simulation and lumped-parameter modelling is an advantage.
Proficiency with Ansys software and Python is preferred.
Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams within the organizations.
