Loop is seeking a Materials Engineer to shape the materials behind every product. You will guide material selection, validation, and problem-solving across multiple programs, collaborating with Product Design Engineering, Quality, Industrial Design, CMF, Product Management, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.

You’ll move between research, testing, supplier collaboration, and hands-on problem-solving to ensure robustness, safety, compliance, and manufacturability, while expanding Loop’s

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of foams, fabrics, textiles, adhesives, coatings, and related material systems.
• Experience with material testing and validation.
• Experience collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Ability to translate test data into clear recommendations and specifications.
• Understanding of how material choices affect performance, durability, aesthetics, and manufacturability.

Responsabilités

• Guide product teams on material selection and trade-offs across comfort, durability, cosmetics, manufacturability, and cost.
• Define and refine material performance requirements early in development and ensure validation before progress.
• Develop and execute material testing and validation methods, turning data into recommendations.
• Investigate material-related issues, identify root causes, drive cross-functional solutions.
• Partner with Quality to ensure materials meet robustness, safety, compliance, and certification requirements.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to meet product needs.
