VITO in Belgium is seeking a motivated researcher to advance maritime security EO solutions. You will analyze multi-source data (radar, RF, optical), design workflows, and contribute to international projects with partners from industry and government.

You hold a Master’s degree in a related field, with experience in remote sensing, data fusion, and drone-based image processing. Proficiency in Python, R, and Google Earth Engine is desirable, and willingness to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field.
• Background in remote sensing, data science, or related domain.
• Experience in processing data (optical/hyperspectral, radar/RF) and data fusion.
• Drone-based image processing (UAV/USV) is an asset.
• Experience with Python, R, and Google Earth Engine.
• Interest in maritime applications and EO solutions.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Willing to undertake short international trips and networking events.

Responsabilités

• Analyze, interpret, and combine multi-source data for maritime security applications.
• Design and implement data analysis workflows and algorithms.
• Provide scientific and technical follow-up and support coordination within the team.
• Support project proposals, reports, and publications.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on multidisciplinary projects.
