Lighthouse Io is seeking a Manager / Architect for Engineering to lead an impactful engineering team in Belgium. What you will do

As a Manager / Architect for Engineering, you will lead an engineering team that owns end-to-end a domain within our product suite, building features and capabilities that directly impact revenue outcomes for hotels worldwide. This is a high‑impact role that requires strong technical depth with people‑management excellence, while actively shaping how your team works in an era where software engineering itself is rapidly evolving.

Where you will have impact

• Lead, coach, and mentor your team members, building a culture of technical excellence and long‑term career growth.
• Work closely with your product trio (Product Manager, UX Designer) to define, manage, and execute the development roadmap for your domain. Actively participate in ideation, translate product goals into functional designs, and be a critical technical voice throughout.
• Act as the technical go‑to person for your domain: lead architectural decisions with a long‑term perspective, design and scope complex features, and be the first line of contact for escalations so your engineers are shielded from interruption.
• Build deep knowledge of the repositories and capabilities of related teams (Data Science, Integrations, Backend Platform) and advise them during shared developments.
• Play a leading role in delivery: facilitate team processes, ensure the team has the context it needs, and absorb planning complexity so engineers can stay focused.
• Make small, hands‑on contributions as an engineer to stay grounded in the day‑to‑day reality of writing software.
• Leverage AI to streamline team processes, accelerate product ideation, and improve the quality of outcomes.
• Set clear standards for how the team uses AI‑assisted development tools responsibly in their daily workflow.

About our team

You’ll be joining and leading one of our product engineering teams. This team, composed of yourself and up to five Frontend and Backend Engineers, operates with a product trio model alongside a Product Manager and a UX Designer. Your team has full ownership over the roadmap for this critical area of our product suite, shipping features end‑to‑end and being accountable for both delivery and quality. As we pivot toward agentic product interfaces, your team will also take ownership of the AI layer of your domain, building the sub‑agents that power the experience for our customers.

Who you are

• An experienced people leader with a track record of managing engineering teams and a passion for coaching and mentoring.
• A strong hands‑on background in backend development, with deep experience in designing and building scalable APIs, services, and product systems.
• The ability to see the bigger picture, breaking down large architectural projects into clear, manageable tasks.
• A proactive, “can‑do” attitude, with the ability to inspire a positive, solution‑oriented mindset within your team.
• A hands‑on experience in using AI tools to optimize processes, speed up product exploration, and viewing AI as a core component of modern software architecture.
• Professional proficiency in Python, with solid experience in backend frameworks such as Django or professional experience in GoLang.
• Fluency in English, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

We welcome
