Machine Safety Expert – Single Point of Contact (SPOC)

We are looking for a Machine Safety Expert who will act as the Single Point of Contact for machine safety within an R&D and laboratory environment at a high‑technology pharmaceutical R&D company.

Responsibilities

• Act as SPOC for machine safety within a R&D/lab context.
• Ensure compliance with machine safety and EHS processes during purchase, commissioning, and use of laboratory equipment.
• Integrate machine safety requirements from the early stage of the equipment life‑cycle (procurement & design).
• Coordinate and follow up actions from machine safety risk assessments.
• Assist in resolving historical or remaining machine safety risks.
• Support MOC (Management of Change) processes.
• Prepare safety dossiers and coordinate with EHS.
• Be actively present in laboratories and technical environments to detect hazards and guide them.
• Coordinate machine safety training and raise awareness within R&D.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in machine safety, EHS or prevention in a laboratory, R&D or industrial setting.
• Strong affinity with laboratory equipment and automation (experience outside pharma also relevant).
• Knowledge of applicable legislation and safety principles regarding machine safety.
• Level 2 prevention adviser is a strong plus.
• CMSE certification or equivalent is a competitive advantage.
• Self‑directed, proactive, and able to establish contacts quickly.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to bridge business and safety departments.
