Syensqo is seeking an experienced M&A lawyer to act as a strategic business partner on domestic and international transactions. You will lead significant workstreams, coordinate due diligence across jurisdictions, and draft essential agreements such as NDAs and TSAs.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years' post-qualification experience in corporate law and M&A.
  • Experience in a leading international law firm.
  • Strong drafting, due diligence and transaction management skills.
  • Experience handling sophisticated domestic or cross-border transactions.
  • Excellent project management and organisational abilities.

Responsabilités

  • Leading legal workstreams on domestic and international M&A transactions.

  • Supporting post-closing integration, corporate reorganisations, carveout transactions and other ongoing transaction matters.
  • Working closely with external counsel and assuming responsibility for transaction leadership.

Reporting directly to the Head of M&A Legal, you'll join a dedicated specialist team responsible for delivering acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and strategic investments that support the company's long-term growth.

We count on you for:

You'll take ownership of significant elements of live transactions while working alongside experienced colleagues on some of the company's most important strategic projects.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading legal workstreams on domestic and international M&A transactions.

  • Managing legal due diligence and coordinating specialist legal input across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Drafting and negotiating key transaction documentation and ancillary agreements (NDAs, TSAs, etc.).

  • Supporting transaction structuring and identifying practical solutions to legal risks.

  • Managing internal stakeholders across M&A Execution, Corporate Strategy, Tax, Treasury, Finance, HR, IT, Compliance and other functions throughout the deal lifecycle.

You will bring:
  • 5–7 years' post-qualification experience in corporate law and M&A.

  • Experience gained within a leading international law firm.

  • Strong technical M&A skills, including drafting, due diligence and transaction management.

  • Experience working on sophisticated domestic or cross-border transactions.

  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.

  • Commercial curiosity and an interest in understanding how transactions create long‑term business value.

  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to work directly with senior stakeholders.

You will get:
  • The Belgian annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: € 113,600 to € 142,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualification, and internal equity and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives

  • 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations

  • The primary location for this job is Brussels, Belgium; however, it may also be based in Aubervilliers, France. Local competitive salary conditions will apply, in line with local legislation. Information will be provided before your first interview
