Equans BeLux in Brussels is seeking a Legal Counsel to advise on complex contracts, public procurement procedures, and legal matters tied to our industrial activities. You will work within the Brussels-based legal team, collaborating with the Industry North Business Unit to shape tomorrow's infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in law.
• Minimum 5 years as lawyer or in-house counsel.
• Experience in contract law, construction law, public procurement and industrial projects.
• Strong negotiation of complex contracts and transactions.
• Understanding of technical, commercial, financial and strategic aspects of projects beyond the legal dimension.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive, positive and pragmatic approach with an open mindset.
• Fluent Dutch and English; French is an advantage.

Responsabilités

• Analyze public and private tender documents, particularly during the tender phase.
• Provide practical legal advice during the execution phase of projects.
• Draft, negotiate and manage a wide range of agreements.
• Handle complex contracts and transactions.
• Prepare and negotiate construction contracts.
• Draft and manage joint venture agreements, maintenance agreements and shareholders’ agreements.
• Advise on legal matters linked to Equans’ activities, including contract law, law of obligations, public procurement and corporate law.
• Follow up national disputes and claims involving Equans.

As a Legal Counsel, you advise on complex contracts, public procurement procedures and legal matters linked to Equans’ industrial activities. Based within the legal team in Brussels and working closely with the Industry North Business Unit, you contribute to projects that shape tomorrow’s infrastructure and industry.

Zoom on the job:

• analyse public and private tender documents, particularly during the tender phase

Come as you are, ideally with:

• a master’s degree in law
• at least 5 years of experience as a lawyer and/or in-house legal counsel
• experience in or interest in contract law, construction law, public procurement and industrial projects
• strong skills and interest in negotiating complex contracts and transactions
• understanding of the technical, commercial, financial and strategic aspects of projects beyond the legal dimension
• strong communication and relationship-building skills
• a proactive, positive and pragmatic approach with an open mindset
• confidence, sound judgement, team spirit and the ability to work autonomously
• fluent Dutch and English, with a good command of French considered an advantage
