The Cookware Company seeks an experienced Temporary Legal Counsel (Freelance/Interim) to support commercial legal activities in a fast-paced international environment, focusing on contract management, IP matters, and regulatory compliance.

You will draft and negotiate supplier, procurement, retailer, distribution and service contracts; advise on marketing materials and packaging; manage trademarks and licensing; and monitor EU regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements.
• Experience with supplier, procurement, retailer, distribution and service agreements.
• Experience with IP matters, including trademarks and licensing, is a plus.
• Experience with loyalty or customer engagement programs is a plus.
• Familiarity with EU consumer protection and sustainability regulations.
• Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.

Temporary Legal Counsel (Freelance/Interim)

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel on a temporary freelance or interim basis to support our commercial legal activities. The role focuses on contract management, intellectual property matters, legal compliance, and providing pragmatic legal support to business stakeholders in a fast-paced international environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier, procurement, retailer, distribution, logistics and service contracts.


• Provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders while balancing legal risks with commercial objectives.


• Support the day-to-day management of intellectual property matters, including trademarks, licensing, brand protection, freedom-to-operate searches and related agreements, depending on the candidate's experience and expertise.


• Review packaging, product claims, marketing materials, and promotional campaigns from a legal and compliance perspective.


• Support legal projects and other day-to-day commercial legal activities.


• Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting the organization's commercial activities.

Preferred Experience

• Strong experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.


• Experience with supplier, procurement, retailer, distribution, and service agreements.


• Experience with intellectual property matters, including trademarks, licensing, brand protection, and related agreements, is an asset.


• Experience with loyalty, rewards, or customer engagement programs is a plus.


• Familiarity with sustainability and consumer protection regulations, including the EU's Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive, is considered a plus.


• Pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.


• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.


• Contract Type: Freelance / Interim Assignment for 4 days a week


• Duration: Temporary assignment (duration to be defined)


• Location: Drongen (Ghent) - home office: 2 days a week


• Start Date: 01/10/2026
