Job summary

Korys is offering an Energy Transition Direct Investments internship for motivated students or recent graduates to gain hands-on exposure to the full investment cycle, including market mapping, evaluation, and due diligence, with support from seasoned investment professionals. You will join a small, entrepreneurial team and contribute to evaluating opportunities in renewable energy and related sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in economics, finance, business administration or science.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus.
• Enthusiastic, open-minded, flexible and eager to learn; team player with interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to roll up sleeves and work autonomously.
• Previous internship in energy, investment banking, consulting, private equity or venture capital is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Map industries: dynamics, drivers, players of interest.
• Screen and evaluate investment opportunities: market, position, strategy, financials, sustainability, valuation.
• Prepare internal presentations and documents for investment decisions.
• Assist during transactional processes.
• Support portfolio companies in realizing objectives.

Korys - Internship Direct Investments (Energy Transition)

Job Description

Korys is the investment structure of the Colruyt family, a unique place for motivated students or young graduates

to acquire the skills and experience to kickstart their career as investment professionals. Korys focuses on three

investment themes:

• Energy Transition (ET): renewable energy assets and innovative companies providing enabling technologies and services
• Conscious Consumer (CC): consumer companies that offer products and services that are convenient and responsible from a social, environmental or health perspective
• Healthy Living (HL): innovative companies across prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases.

We combine expertise in both private and listed assets. This synergy is a key strength of our organisation. We are therefore looking for interns to join our:

• Liquid investments team (LI): public equity investments
• Direct Investments teams (DI): private equity investments in Energy Transition, Conscious Consumer or Healthy Living

As an intern within Korys’ Energy Transition Direct Investments team, you will gain hands-on exposure to the full investment process, contributing to all stages of the investment cycle:

• Map specific industries: industry dynamics and drivers, technologies/products/services, identify players of interest
• Screen and evaluate investment opportunities (market, position and strategy of the company, financial analysis, sustainability and valuation)
• Prepare internal presentations and documents for investment decisions
• Assist during the transactional processes
• Support portfolio companies in realizing their objectives

Job Qualifications

A successful candidate for this internship will have the following characteristics:

• A high level of motivation and strong interest in investments, business strategy and sustainability
• Completed Bachelor or higher in economics, finance, business administration or science (engineering, energy,...)
• Fluency in English, knowledge of Dutch or French is a plus
• Enthusiastic, open-minded, flexible and eager to learn. Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
• Down-to-earth attitude, willingness to roll up the sleeves with ability to work autonomously.
• Previous internship experience in a relevant field (energy, investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital) is a plus
