Sopra Steria Belgium is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join our day-shift IT operations. You’ll diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues both remotely and on-site, ensuring smooth operations and high end-user productivity.

You’ll support user accounts, provide first-line IT assistance, and collaborate with a collaborative team across national and international projects. Fluency in English, Dutch and French is required.

Qualifications

• Training or proven experience in IT support with first-line assistance.
• Experience with Windows and macOS and basic networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Office 365, Intune, and remote support tooling.
• Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical users.

Job Description

An IT Support Engineer in a day-shift-system provides technical assistance and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues both remotely and on-site. They diagnose problems, implement solutions, and maintain systems to ensure smooth IT operations. Responsibilities include managing user accounts, and providing end-user support to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.

You’ll have knowledge and experience of the following:

• Training in IT support (Syntra, VDAB…) or proven experience in a similar role.
• You have a firstexperience in providing first-lineIT support or you just finished an IT course/education.
• You have basicknowledge of:
  • Hardware: Understanding of basic hardware components, such as desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals. Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repairs is valuable.
  • Operating Systems: Familiarity with common operating systems (Windows, macOS). Knowledge of basic commands, user management, file systems, and updates.
  • Software: Understanding of common software applications, such as Microsoft Office, O365, email clients, Intune, and basic troubleshooting of common software issues.
  • Networking: Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, LAN).
• Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical users in a clear and friendly manner.
• Basic experience with service desk- and remote tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira).
• Certifications (optional but beneficial): CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• English, Dutch and French are required
