NVISO is hiring a (Junior) Security Operations Engineering Consultant based in Belgium to support SOC projects in Charleroi / Namur. You will onboard log sources, design detection rules, and contribute to incident response while collaborating with customers and vendors.

With a focus on learning and growth, you will work under senior guidance to implement security solutions across diverse sectors, leveraging Azure Sentinel, Elastic, Splunk, and LogPoint within the Microsoft stack.

Qualifications

• Citizenship in one of the NATO member states (32).
• Early-career experience in a SOC/ cybersecurity or IT role is mandatory.
• Familiarity with SIEM query languages or Sigma/YARA rules is a plus.
• Cybersecurity coursework or related studies are beneficial.

Tasks

As a (Junior) Security Operations Engineering Consultant located in Belgium you will assist in various Security Operations Center (SOC) projects in the region of Charleroi / Namur. You will gain exposure to SOC engineering concepts such as log onboarding, detection engineering, and SIEM technologies. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will support the design and implementation of security solutions for customers across different sectors.

You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, which enable you not only to understand requirements, but also to put these requirements into a development plan, explain it to customers and guarantee proper execution. You have an open and approachable mind, in line with NVISO's values.

Typical tasks include but are not limited to:

• Planning and managing the onboarding of new log sources, troubleshooting issues with log sources or systems with clients and vendors;


• Creating technical and process playbooks;


• Defining and setting up correlation rules, based on threat intelligence and specific customer requirements;


• Contributing to incident response procedures;


• Ensuring you remain up to speed with latest trends and technologies in the SOC field.

Requirements

Requirements

• You hold citizenship in one of the 32 NATO member states.


• First years of practical experience (such as a SOC Analyst) in the field of cybersecurity or IT is mandatory;


• Experience with Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Security stack, or SIEM technologies such as Elastic, Splunk, or LogPoint;


• Ideally, familiarity with SIEM query languages or an interest in learning Sigma and YARA rules;


• Experience or coursework related to cybersecurity is beneficial;

• Ability to work independently, and keep track of your priorities;


• Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills that enable the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment across the entire company;


• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written (Dutch and/or French is a plus);

• Ability to prepare and present your work to colleagues.
