Nitro Software Belgium is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Accounting Team in Antwerp on a 6-month contract as a maternity leave replacement. You will support day-to-day accounting operations and help with month-end close procedures.

Responsibilities include AR, journal entries, GL month-end tasks, AP, bank reconciliations, and monthly financial statement preparation, with ad hoc analyses as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of corporate or public accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Proficiency with ExactOnline and NetSuite is a plus.
• Strong MS Excel and MS Office skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication in English and Dutch.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsabilités

• Prepare ongoing journal entries.
• Own GL month-end close tasks (cash, prepaid, fixed assets, accruals).
• Manage AP process including vendor payments.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and analyses.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and analyses.
• Perform ad hoc analyses and projects as needed.

The Role:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Team in Antwerp on a 6-month contract as a maternity leave replacement. In this role, you will support day-to-day accounting operations and assist with month-end close procedures.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Participate in AR process including billing and customer collections


• Ongoing journal entry preparation


• Owning GL related month-end close tasks (specifically with cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals)


• Responsible for ongoing AP process including vendor management and payments


• Preparing bank reconciliations, schedules and analyses


• Involved with monthly financial statement preparation and analysis


• Performing ad hoc analyses and projects as needed

What We're Looking For:

• 3+ years of corporate accounting or public accounting experience (can be a combination of both)


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting


• Proficiency with ExactOnline and NetSuite or comparable ERP system is a plus,


• Competent with Excel and other MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)


• Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM system is a plus


• Strong attention to detail and ability to research discrepancies to solve problems


• Proven ability for clear and effective written / verbal communication in English and Dutch


• Ability to work independently, maintain tight deadlines, solve problems proactively
