Appsierra Group seeks an experienced data engineer and backend developer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and APIs for a content platform. You will work with Java, Python and Go within a modern, scalable architecture and collaborate closely with the solution architect.

You will set up ELT processes, manage data integrations, and ensure data quality, performance, and reliability while contributing to Agile/Scrum practices and documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in software development or data engineering.
• You have experience with one or more backend languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go).
• You have experience with AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, Aurora PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• You have experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation) and DevOps principles.
• You are a strong communicator and a real team player.
• You have experience working in an Agile/Scrum team.
• You have experience with a CMS (content management system).
• You are open-minded, eager to learn and willing to question existing assumptions.
• You have a good knowledge of Dutch.

Responsabilités

Job description

• You develop and maintain data pipelines and backend services, with a focus on data engineering and backend development.


• You work with existing building blocks in Java 21, Python and Go, but also actively think about new components in a greenfield architecture.


• You set up ELT processes and manage data integrations from different source systems to the data lake and data warehouse.


• You will build and maintain backend APIs and services that are at the core of the content platform.


• You work closely with the solution architect to coordinate technical choices and expand the architecture.


• You monitor data quality, performance and scalability of the solutions.


• You work in an Agile/Scrum environment and contribute to code reviews, testing and documentation.

Who are you?

• You have at least 5 years of experience in software development and/or data engineering, preferably in complex or large-scale projects.


• You have experience with one or more backend languages (e.g. Java, Python, Go).


• You have experience with AWS Services such as lambda, sqs, eventbridge, aurora postgresql and dynamodb.


• You have experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation) and DevOps principles.


• You are a strong communicator and a real team player.


• You have experience working in an Agile/Scrum team.


• You have experience with a CMS (content management system).

• You have experience in the media sector.


• You have experience with container technology (Docker) and CI/CD.

• You have a knowledge of data architecture, ELT processes and workflow orchestration (e.g. Apache Airflow).
