BIG WATER CONSULTING (BWC) seeks an IT Functional Analyst in Belgium for a full-time contract with optional freelance eligibility. The role features a hybrid work model (50% onsite, 50% teleworking) within Belgium and requires extensive knowledge of IT systems, strong communication, and a proven track record in KYC.

Responsibilities include translating business needs into functional requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting release and deployment across environments

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a Functional Analyst.
• Strong functional and technical knowledge of existing IT systems.
• Translate business problems into detailed functional requirements and IT solutions.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environment preferred.
• Business experience in KYC is mandatory.

• Work with Business Analysts, clients, architects, PMs, Asset Managers and Product Owners to define solutions.
• Propose alternatives aligned with enterprise architecture, security standards and cost/benefit considerations.
• Collaborate with architects and technical teams to define solution architecture and clarify responsibilities.
• Design solutions by identifying impacts across application components.
• Follow up on development and testing to ensure delivered solutions match functional specs.
• Provide production support and analyze production incidents; coordinate resolutions.

BWC is looking for an IT Functional Analyst in Belgium. It's a full-time contract opportunity & freelance can also apply.

Job Type: Hybrid – 50% Onsite + 50% Teleworking in Belgium.

• Language: Good knowledge of Dutch or French, as well as sound knowledge of English and at least one local language.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience as a Functional Analyst.
• Strong functional and technical knowledge of existing IT systems.
• Analyze business problems and requirements and translate them into detailed functional requirements and IT solutions.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, clients, architects, Project Managers, Asset Managers, and Product Owners to define appropriate solutions.
• Propose alternative solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, security standards, strategy, and cost/benefit considerations.
• Collaborate with architects and technical teams to define the solution architecture and clarify functional responsibilities.
• Design solutions by identifying and detailing impacts across different application components.
• Coordinate with technical teams to specify requirements and ensure a unified understanding of business needs.
• Follow up on development and testing to ensure the delivered solution matches the functional specifications.
• Provide technical definitions for components such as queues, security, and integration layers.
• Support suppliers during development, integration, and assembly testing (I&AT).
• Analyze defects during testing and support release and deployment teams across different environments.
• Provide production support, analyze production incidents, coordinate their resolution, and maintain relevant documentation.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is preferred.
• Strong understanding of analysis methodologies according to enterprise standards.
• Business experience in KYC is mandatory.
• Practical experience with Scrum is preferred.
• Strong Agile mindset, with a positive, pragmatic, collaborative, and continuous-improvement-oriented approach.
• You are rigorous, methodical, analytical, and accurate, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Comfortable working in cross-functional Agile teams and contributing beyond the primary role when required to achieve sprint goals.
