Vulcain Engineering Group | Belgium is seeking an Instrumentation & Control Project Engineer to support modifications, modernization, and maintenance programs within nuclear facilities. You will coordinate I&C projects, work with engineering, maintenance and contractors, and ensure safety, quality, schedule and budget adherence.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in instrumentation, sensors, control systems or automation architectures.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders or supervising modifications is a strong asset.
  • Nuclear industry experience is highly appreciated.
  • Fluency in French and good command of English is mandatory.

Responsabilités

  • Coordinate and manage I&C projects and technical modifications from preparation through final acceptance.
  • Interface between engineering teams, maintenance departments and external contractors.
  • Define technical solutions, component selection, maintenance requirements and spare parts strategies.
  • Prepare technical and administrative documentation for project execution.
  • Develop and maintain project dossiers, procedures and maintenance plans.
  • Ensure adherence to intervention and modification processes during preparation and site execution.
  • Support budgets, planning activities and resource estimation for projects.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and ensure effective communication across parties.
  • Monitor progress and deliver quality documentation within timelines.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT and commissioning activities as required.
  • Report status, risks and technical challenges to management and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance strategies and problem-solving.

Description du poste

As part of our Nuclear activities, we are looking for an Instrumentation & Control Project Engineer to support the implementation of technical modifications, modernization projects and maintenance programs within nuclear power generation facilities. Working within a multidisciplinary project environment, you will act as the link between engineering studies and field implementation. You will coordinate the preparation, execution and commissioning of instrumentation and control (I&C) modifications while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, schedule and budget requirements. You will contribute to the long-term operation and modernization of critical industrial installations while collaborating closely with engineering, maintenance and operational teams.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
  • Coordinate and manage I&C projects and technical modifications from preparation through final acceptance.
  • Act as the interface between engineering teams, maintenance departments and external contractors.
  • Participate in the definition of technical solutions, component selection, maintenance requirements and spare parts strategies.
  • Prepare technical and administrative documentation required for project execution and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain project execution dossiers, procedures, maintenance plans and technical documentation.
  • Ensure strict application of intervention and modification processes during preparation and site execution phases.
  • Support project managers in estimating budgets, planning activities and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholders involved in project execution and ensure effective communication between all parties.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure delivery of quality documentation within agreed timelines.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and commissioning activities when required.
  • Report project status, risks and technical challenges to management and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance strategies, preventive maintenance plans, spare parts management and technical problem-solving.
  • Analyze operational feedback and lessons learned to improve equipment reliability, safety and process efficiency.
ABOUT YOU:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation, Control Systems, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in one or several of the following areas: industrial instrumentation, sensors and measurement systems, industrial control systems, automation architectures, electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Experience managing technical projects, coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders or supervising industrial modifications is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry is highly appreciated.
  • Strong interest in industrial technologies, automation and control systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices is considered an asset.
  • Fluency in French and a good command of English is mandatory
