NMBS in Gent is looking for a diligent Train Inspector to ensure every train can depart safely. You perform brake tests, carry out technical inspections of passenger rolling stock, and execute small repairs as needed.

You will also assist with minor maintenance and repair work on buildings and infrastructure within the depots or maintenance post, working in a 3x8 shift pattern with a focus on precision and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma in mechanics and electricity or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in a technical job is acceptable.
• Willingness to work in a 3x8 shift pattern.

Responsabilités

• Conduct brake tests to ensure safe departures.
• Perform technical inspection of passenger rolling stock and small repairs as needed.
• Assist with minor maintenance on buildings and infrastructure within depots or maintenance posts.

Responsibilities

• Je voert remproeven uit, zodat elke trein veilig kan vertrekken.
• Je doet een technische controle (schouwing) van het reizigersmaterieel en voert kleine herstellingen uit wanneer dat nodig is – dit kan in het station, in de bundels of in de werkplaats zijn.
• Je helpt mee aan kleine onderhouds- en herstellingswerken aan gebouwen en infrastructuur in de bundels of in de onderhoudspost.

Qualifications

• Je hebt een getuigschrift technisch secundair onderwijs (na 4 jaar) of beroepssecundair onderwijs (na 6 jaar) in het studiegebied mechanica – elektriciteit.
• Of je hebt ervaring in een technische job (min. 2 jaar).
• Of je volgde een gelijkwaardige opleiding bij VDAB, Syntra of een andere opleidingsinstelling.
• Je vindt het fijn om met een team in een ploegensysteem (3x8) te werken.
• Je bent handig en werkt nauwkeurig.
• Je hebt kennis van mechanische inzettingstechnieken en kan mechanische metingen uitvoeren.
• Je kan planlezen.
• Je leert graag bij over nieuwe technieken en installaties.
