Job summary

Zohorecruit in Belgium is seeking an Infrastructure System Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support on-premises and cloud infrastructure, ensuring performance, security, and reliability across enterprise environments.

The role covers configuring servers, storage, virtualization, backups, and automation, with on-call rotation and collaboration with network, DevOps, and security teams. Strong Windows/Linux, virtualization, and cloud service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 3+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V).
• Familiarity with cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Proficient in infrastructure scripting or automation.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance.
• Good written and spoken English (Dutch and/or French are a plus, depending on region).
• Nice-to-Have: Terraform or Ansible; Docker or Kubernetes; Certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, VCP, RHCE); regulated enterprise IT experience.

• Ensure system availability, performance, and security through regular health checks, updates, and patch management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system incidents, performance issues, and outages in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., network, DevOps, and security) on projects and incident resolution.
• Automate repetitive tasks and improve infrastructure efficiency through scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Maintain technical documentation, system inventories, and configuration records.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide out-of-hours support when needed.

Job Summary:

Our client is are seeking a skilled and proactive Infrastructure System Engineer to join their IT team in Belgium. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting their on-premise and cloud-based IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate has a strong background in systems engineering, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and experience working in enterprise or critical infrastructure environments.

Prior experience working in a regulated or enterprise IT environment.
