Job summary

Connect Consulting in Diegem, Belgium, seeks an IBM i Software Solution Engineer to design, develop, and maintain critical business applications on the IBM i platform. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and IT teams to turn requirements into reliable technical solutions.

The role requires at least 3 years of software development, proven IBM i (AS/400) experience, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, Software Engineering, IT, or related field
At least 3 years of software development experience
Proven IBM i (AS/400) development experience
Experience maintaining business-critical applications
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Collaborative, initiative, continuous-improvement mindset

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and document business requirements, and translate them into technical solutions
Design, develop, test, and deploy applications on the IBM i platform
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot existing applications to ensure performance, reliability, and security
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, including AI-enabled solutions where relevant
Collaborate with developers, business teams, project managers, and support teams, including participation in sprint planning and retrospectives
Create and maintain technical and functional documentation, and support knowledge sharing and user training
