Vestas in Oostende, Belgium, is seeking an HSE professional to support offshore wind operations in Belgium and the Netherlands. The role focuses on promoting safety culture, delivering campaigns and training, and maintaining HSE documentation across onshore and offshore tasks.

You will collaborate with operational teams, conduct risk assessments, participate in toolbox talks, and help manage incidents and inquiries while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and company policies.

Qualifications

• Experience with HSE policies, processes and incident handling
• Experience in review and creation of HSE documents
• Excellent attention to detail and structured approach to documentation
• Fluent in English; Dutch language skills preferred

Responsabilités

• Deliver HSE campaigns and trainings and support the annual HSE action plan implementation
• Maintain and update HSE documentation including risk assessments and procedures

Join our team as an HSE professional and help support safe operations across offshore wind operations in Belgium and the Netherlands. In this role, you will help with daily service activities, encourage a strong safety culture, and ensure HSE standards are met. You’ll work closely with operational teams, contribute to continuous improvement, and play a key role in managing risks and incident prevention. As part of the North and Central Europe (NCE) region, our HSE team provides key support to the O M department within Cluster 3. We collaborate closely with operational teams across 11 offshore wind farms in Belgium and the Netherlands, ensuring high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and risk management. In this offshore setting, our team helps build a safety-focused culture and supports safe, efficient operations

Responsibilities

• Support offshore service operations by promoting safety awareness and a positive safety culture
• Deliver HSE campaigns and training, and support the implementation of the annual HSE action plan
• Maintain and update HSE documentation, including risk assessments, procedures, and toolbox talks
• Participate in toolbox talks, inspections, and HSE meetings
• Ensure compliance with HSE processes and customer requirements
• Manage HSE reporting, including hazards, near misses, observations, and incidents
• Support incident investigations and advise teams on preventive and corrective actions

Qualifications

• Have experience with HSE policies, processes and incident handling, registration and investigations
• Have experience in the review and creation of HSE Documents
• Good attention to detail and structured approach to documentation and processes
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Dutch is also preferred.
• Act as an HSE role model through behavior and communication, while being a motivated, professional, and transparent collaborative colleague
• Ability to coach and support teams in developing an effective safety culture rather than simply enforcing safety rules
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks while demonstrating ownership and accountability
• Good IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn new systems and processes
• Effective communication and facilitation skills with a broad range of local stakeholders
• Capacity to maintain composure in emergency situations and other demanding circumstances
• Willingness and ability to learn through on-the-job experience and formal training

Additional information

Primary work location: Oostende, Belgium, 3 days a week in office. You will be required to attend the office every day to begin with.

This position requires approximately 10 days of travel per year.
