Jan De Nul Group is seeking an HSE Advisor for our Mons region to implement and monitor safety policy on major civil projects. You will tour sites, engage with management and workers, and drive safety through risk analyses, procedures, and incident follow‑ups.

The role requires Level 2 Safety Advisor certification, fluency in English and French, and several years of relevant experience. A strong team spirit and independent planning are essential for success.

• Adaptable and flexible under constantly changing circumstances.
• Strong character—safety vigilant and willing to investigate and act.

Responsabilités

• Monitor the safety and progress of the work for projects under your responsibility at various stages of implementation by conducting risk analyses and safety inspections.
• Consult with site and project management and engage with foremen, workers and subcontractors.
• Prepare reports and develop safety procedures and toolbox meetings.
• Create project‑specific documents such as the HSE implementation plan, emergency plan, inspection and testing plan.
• Help organize safety training sessions.
• Observe and analyze safety issues that occur on a job site, log them correctly through our platform, and follow up on these incidents.
• Investigate accidents that occur on site and follow up on safety modifications to prevent similar incidents.
• Facilitate and perform QHSSE audits and inspections.

Job Overview

For the region of Mons, we are looking for an HSE Advisor who has a good knowledge of both English and French. You will be involved in our prestigious civil projects such as the expansion of new data centers, the construction of the Defence headquarters, the Oosterweel connection, etc. As an HSE Advisor, you are responsible for implementing and monitoring the safety policy. You work closely with site management and ensure that the projects run smoothly and safely.

Your Role

In the morning, you start the day with a tour of the site. You put on your personal protective equipment and have a conversation with the site manager, before heading out to the site together: How is the project going? What's planned for the next few weeks and months? Have there been any difficulties or problems? Is there anything you need to know or can help resolve?

During your tour, you observe the work with the site team and check that safety agreements are being followed. You have a conversation with the people working there and you are interested in what they are doing. Is there a problem with the safety of the works? Then you address it diplomatically.
