Are you a HR professional looking for a varied role where no 2 days are the same?
This role is ideal for a HR professional who wants to move beyond administration and progressively develop expertise across recruitment, talent management, employee engagement, performance management and HR projects, meaning you will interact daily with Partners, Associates, Trainees, and Business Services Teams and hence gain exposure to the people dynamics of a leading international legal firm.
Your Responsibilities
Seamless Employee Experience
You take ownership for every step of the onboarding and offboarding process by:
- Drafting employment contracts.
- Preparing induction programmes.
- Managing registrations with benefit providers.
- Ensuring all administrative procedures are completed correctly when employees join or leave the firm.
- Discretion is key.
Smooth HR Operations
You’ll manage personnel administration from A to Z:
- Payroll administration for a team of 25.
- Maintaining accurate employee records plus the HR database.
- Preparing HR reports.
- A keen eye for detail is vital.
Attracting Tomorrow's Talent
You’ll support recruitment activities by:
- Drafting and publishing attractive job advertisements.
- Coordinating interviews.
- Ensure optimal and timely candidate communication and application follow‑up.
Following your onboarding period, you’ll also conduct first-round interviews for selected Business Services vacancies and help identify candidates who will thrive within Bird & Bird’s collaborative culture.
Contribute to Bird & Bird’s Talent Engagement and Retention
Working closely with the HR Manager, you’ll contribute to a wide variety of strategic HR initiatives and projects that support Bird & Bird’s HR priorities of Wellbeing, Employee Engagement, Diversity and Inclusion, Performance and Development and Continuous Learning.
Profile
First and foremost you enjoy helping people as well as exposure to the full employee lifecycle.
You also have:
- 1 year minimum of experience in payroll administration and an understanding of Belgian employment legislation.
- Excellent English (written and spoken)with Good Dutch and French (both written and spoken).
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel, and enjoy learning new systems and technologies.
