Job summary

Elia Group seeks a Head of IT Solutions & Architecture to lead the teams responsible for solution delivery and architecture governance across its critical IT landscape. Reporting to the CIO ETB and as a member of the IT Leadership Team, you will drive technology decisions and standards across multiple domains.

You will manage a department of 50–60 professionals, shaping the future application landscape, and collaborating with business stakeholders, architecture communities and external partners

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive IT leadership experience in complex enterprise environments.
• Proven track record in leading large teams through managers and senior technical experts.
• Expertise in solution architecture, application delivery and governance.
• Knowledge of architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and service management principles such as ITIL.
• Strong understanding of modern application, cloud, integration and data technologies.
• Experience with agile or product-driven organisations.
• Proven experience in vendor management, sourcing and strategic technology decisions.
• Strong understanding of security, resilience and compliance requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
• Fluent in English and professionally proficient in French or Dutch, with knowledge of the other national language.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the IT Solutions & Architecture department, including people, budget and workforce planning.
• Define and drive the technology and application strategy across the organisation.
• Ensure strong technical leadership within product teams and promote high engineering standards.
• Translate, complete and enforce architecture principles, standards and governance processes within the delivery teams (products & projects).
• With the team, ensure that governance, notably with regards architecture documentation & decisions, are followed and embedded into the delivery teams across the Elia organisation.
• Ensure that roadmaps of modernization and refactoring towards cloud-native are effectively delivered.
• Manage key relationships with technology partners and suppliers.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CIO, business leaders and senior stakeholders on solution and architecture matters.
• Oversee application lifecycle management, technical debt reduction and technology modernisation initiatives.
• Develop talent, capabilities and career paths within the architecture and solution community.

Introduction

Elia Transmission Belgium is looking for a Head of IT Solutions & Architecture to lead the teams responsible for solution delivery and architecture governance across its critical IT landscape.

Reporting directly to the CIO ETB and as a member of the IT Leadership Team, you will drive technology decisions, architecture standards and technical leadership across multiple business domains.

Job Description

As Head of IT Solutions & Architecture, you ensure that IT solutions teams (products and projects) are properly staffed with the right expertise but also that the delivery is following the proper technology /security/architecture standards.

You lead a department of approximately 50 to 60 professionals across the domains of Market, Customer & Planning, System Operations, Infrastructure and Asset Management. Working closely with business stakeholders, architecture communities and external partners, you help shape the future application landscape of Elia Transmission Belgium.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper staffing of the solution and architecture domains both in quantity and quality in order to serve the product teams.
• Define and drive the technology and application strategy across the organisation.
• Ensure strong technical leadership within product teams and promote high engineering standards.

Your Profile
