Mega, based in Liege, Belgium, seeks a Head of Development who will set the technical direction and arbitrate major decisions while remaining hands-on with engineers. You will lead and grow a full-stack team across front-end Vue 3/TypeScript and back-end PHP/Laravel, with DevOps tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

You will coach engineers, drive delivery quality, and align architecture with business goals, reporting to leadership and translating constraints for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in software engineering with leadership roles
• Proven track record setting technical direction and improving delivery quality
• Experience in energy/utilities or telecom is a plus

Responsabilités

• Define and own the Technical North Star — architecture principles, standards, tooling and AI-augmented ways of working
• Be the technical decision-maker and arbiter on architecture and trade-offs
• Challenge and validate estimates with rigour and objective baselines
• Raise delivery performance and quality with clear KPIs across delivery, quality and cost
• Coach and mentor engineers, grow the team and set development plans
• Recruit and structure the team around full-stack developers for multiple business lines
• Stay hands-on in code and architecture to earn the team's trust
• Set standards for AI-augmented development and governance
