SoftNice UG is seeking a Google Cloud Foundation Architect / Engineer in Antwerp, Belgium. You will design and implement an enterprise-grade Google Cloud Foundation, aligning with governance, security and IAM requirements, and facilitate migration of workloads to the new platform.

The role offers a broad focus on architecture and implementation, including Infrastructure as Code, cost governance and integration with existing security processes across the organization.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform in enterprise environments.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud foundations or landing zones.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, security, networking and cloud governance.

Job Description: Google Cloud Foundation Architect / Engineer

Context

We are planning on building a Google Cloud Foundation MVP with as first use case, to enable the use of Google Gemini alongside existing AI platforms such as Microsoft Foundry and AWS Bedrock .

The assignment includes establishing a future-proof Google Cloud Foundation, as well as migrating existing use cases.

In the longer term, the platform should evolve into an enterprise-ready solution that enables future DevOps teams to be onboarded efficiently while adhering to KBC standards, policies and governance requirements.

Role

You will play a key role in designing and/or implementing a Google Cloud Foundation that meets KBC's enterprise architecture, security and governance requirements.

Depending on your profile, the focus may be on architecture, implementation, or a combination of both.

List of Responsibilities (but not limited to)

• Design an enterprise-wide Google Cloud architecture aligned with KBC guidelines, standards and policies.
• Define a future-proof cloud foundation with as first use-case, enabling the adoption of Google Gemini across the organization.
• Create architecture principles and design patterns to support future DevOps team onboarding.
• Provide guidance on governance, security and operational models.

Security & Governance

• Develop a threat model.
• Define governance standards covering:
• Encryption
• Access management
• Compliance requirements
• Design security controls and integrate them with existing security processes.

Identity & Access Management

• Design and implement IAM architectures.
• RBAC model
• Federated Identity
• Least Privilege Access principles

Operations & Monitoring

• Implement logging, monitoring and observability capabilities.
• Integrate with existing SIEM platforms.
• Define operational processes for incident management and platform operations.
• Define an engagement model with Google similar to the current operating model used with AWS and Azure.
• Establish cost tracking, showback/chargeback and cost management processes.
• Advise on cloud governance and lifecycle management.

Networking

• Design and implement Google Cloud networking architectures.

Implementation

• Automate platform components using Infrastructure as Code.
• Implement foundational services and security controls.
• Support the migration of existing workloads to the new platform.

Profile

Must-Have

• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform in enterprise environments.
• Experience designing and implementing cloud foundations or landing zones.
