Job summary

Vesuvius Ghlin is seeking a Project Manager to deliver customer projects from definition to commissioning, owning the technical solution, schedule, cost control, and cross-functional coordination.

You will lead global engineering, supply chain, and customer teams to meet milestones and ensure satisfaction, with frequent on-site coordination in Ghlin, Belgium. English proficiency required; French/other languages a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within industrial/engineering environments.
• Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and budgeting principles.
• Experience with commissioning, start-up, FAT/SAT, and customer-facing execution of industrial projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and ERP systems.
• Professional proficiency in English; additional languages are an asset.
• Experience in steelmaking, refractory applications, flow control systems, or heavy industry is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own the successful delivery of customer projects from solution definition through commissioning, ensuring technical performance and customer expectations are met.
• Define, validate, and implement flow control systems, refractory solutions, and related equipment to achieve operational performance.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and contractual commitments are achieved on time.
• Control project costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining quality and performance.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional project resources, including global engineering teams, supply chain, operations, and customers.
• Manage project scope and evaluate change requests, ensuring impact on cost, schedule, and technical performance is assessed and controlled.
• Coordinate FAT, SAT, commissioning activities, and customer handover to ensure successful project completion.
• Identify, assess, and communicate project risks and issues, implementing mitigation and corrective actions as required.
• Maintain visibility and control of project execution, reporting progress, risks, costs, and key deliverables.
• Promote quality, safety, and operational excellence throughout all project activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and best practices.
