Michael Page International (Belgium) is seeking a GL Accountant to support the Chief Accountant in statutory accounting and tax obligations. You will manage daily AP/AR/GL entries, data accuracy, reconciliations, and monthly closings within a small international finance team.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience, fluency in English and strong knowledge of BE GAAP. French is essential; Dutch is a plus. A dynamic, detail-oriented professional will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-10 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP.
• Experience in a small or medium-sized international structure.
• Solid hands-on accounting expertise with an end-to-end view.
• Fluent in English.
• Good command of French.
• Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
• Autonomous, reliable and detail-oriented.
• Hands-on mindset with a pragmatic and flexible attitude.

Responsabilités

Job Description

As a GL Accountant, you will work both autonomously and in support of the Chief Accountant in carrying out various tasks within statutory accounting and ensuring compliance with tax obligations:

• Daily accounting entries in AP, AR and GL
• Ensuring accuracy of all data
• Reconciliation of accounts
• Monthly and yearly closings
• Preparation and analysis of cash flow
• Preparation of the financial statements (BE GAAP)
• Financial reporting to group
• VAT-declaration and statutory reporting NBB / Intrastat
• Assisting with external audits and internal controls
• Supporting process improvements and automation initiatives

The Successful Applicant

The succesful candidate ideally matches the following criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-10 years of experience in a similar accounting role

• Solid hands-on accounting expertise with an end-to-end view
