Job summary

ib vogt GmbH is seeking a GIS Expert to support the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Germany. The role focuses on sourcing, maintaining and providing geographic data for land acquisition, project development, and contractual processes.

You will conduct site screenings with QGIS and ArcGIS, manage GIS databases, and develop reliable maps while working closely with state authorities and CRM systems. German proficiency is mandatory; English is desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s degree in geography or GIS-related field.
Strong understanding of GIS and databases is mandatory.
QGIS, ArcGIS, and ArcGIS Online proficiency is mandatory.
Knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS is preferred.
Ability to use SQL and Python for data processing.
Automation experience is advantageous.
Conscientious and structured approach to sensitive data.
Certifications in QGIS, ArcGIS, SQL, and Python are advantageous.
Experience with WebGIS (OpenLayers/Leaflet) is desirable.
German language mandatory; English desirable.

Responsibilities

Source, maintain, and provide geographical data to support project development activities.
Conduct site screenings for large-scale PV and BESS projects using QGIS and ArcGIS.
Order, process, and provide landowner information.
Manage and maintain GIS databases.
Develop legally compliant and reliable maps.
Support and maintain online tools, including ArcGIS Online and CRM systems.
Perform additional GIS-related tasks and analyses as required.
Maintain productive relationships with state authorities to access unpublished geographical data.
