HumanInTech in Brussels is seeking a skilled developer to join a team building a national, evidence-based point-of-care platform for Belgian healthcare professionals. The role blends knowledge-base work with interoperability and AI-enabled search, integrating EHR systems and publisher APIs.

The assignment runs Oct 2026–Jan 2027 with hybrid Brussels-based work. Open to freelancers or employees of HumanInTech; full-time engagement with potential renewal.

Qualifications

• Proven experience developing digital health or knowledge platform projects.
• Experience with API development, React and Python.
• Experience building analytics and monitoring dashboards.
• Experience developing AI-enabled information retrieval solutions.
• Experience implementing federated search and semantic search solutions.
• Experience integrating Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Experience integrating external publisher APIs and content services.
• Experience implementing authentication and authorisation frameworks (eID, SSO, Cobrha).
• Experience with vector databases and knowledge systems.
• Experience centralising metadata within evidence retrieval systems.
• Experience with healthcare terminology systems including SNOMED CT, ICD and ICPC.
• Understanding of evidence-based content structures and point-of-care information systems within the healthcare domain.
• Passive knowledge of Dutch, French and English

What you will do

You will work as part of a team developing a national evidence-based point-of-care platform for Belgian healthcare professionals. The platform provides trusted, up-to-date clinical information tailored to the Belgian healthcare context, accessible via web, mobile devices and directly through electronic health record systems.

This is not a traditional software development project. It combines building a central knowledge database with integrating data onboarding standards for Belgian and international evidence-based content, interoperability standards, artificial intelligence, content governance and publisher licensing.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing API solutions and front-end components using React and Python
• Building analytics and monitoring dashboards

The setting

This assignment runs from October 2026 to early January 2027 and may be renewed. You will work in a hybrid setting in Brussels. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes a product owner, a full-stack architect and a content licensing and integration specialist.
