Black Pen Recruitment's client in Belgium is seeking a Front End Developer (Drupal) fluent in English, to be based in Brussels. The successful candidate will integrate into the Development team and work on-site with a major client IT team to deliver high-quality Drupal solutions.

This full-time, permanent role requires a master’s degree in IT, extensive HTML/CSS expertise, Drupal theming, Twig templates, and strong knowledge of modern front-end tooling (Webpack, npm).

• Master degree in IT or relevant discipline, with extensive IT experience.
• At least 10 years of HTML/CSS expertise and 5+ years in Drupal theming.
• Proven experience with Drupal 8/9/10 and Twig templates.

They are a renowned supplier of IT services to government institutions, multinational corporations, public administrations and multinational companies, research and academic institutes.

Role Overview

Our client has a vacancy for a Front End Developer (Drupal) fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Requirements

• Master degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 13 years of relevant working experience in IT
• At least 10 years of specific expertise in HTML/CSS
• At least 5 years of specific expertise in Drupal theming
• Proven experience with Drupal 8/9/10
• Expertise in Drupal theming, Twig templates, and front-end integration of custom modules
• Experience working with components and component libraries, including integrating components into Drupal templates
• Understanding of multilingual setups and internationalization (i18n) for global projects
• Skilled in HTML5, CSS3, SASS
• Familiarity with modern front-end tools (Webpack, npm, etc.)
• Experience developing and maintaining responsive newsletter templates (including compatibility testing across major email clients) is considered an asset
• Ability to produce mockups, wireframes, or design prototypes using tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
• Understanding of design principles/best practices and constraints such as the Europa Component Library
• Ability to transfer wireframes into functional interfaces
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG)
• Experience using Git and collaborative tools like GitHub or GitLab
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum workflows and tools like JIRA, Confluence
• Familiarity with Docker or other containerization tools
• Strong debugging skills in Drupal environments
• Excellent command of the English language
