Our client are seeking an experienced Security Architect to strengthen its cyber security capabilities and support ongoing transformation programmes.
You will be responsible for ensuring security requirements are integrated across business and technology initiatives, helping the organisation maintain a strong security posture whilst meeting regulatory obligations. This position will play a key role in driving security architecture, operational resilience, risk management and compliance activities within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Act as the security architecture lead across a range of technology and business initiatives.
- Define and maintain secure architecture principles, standards and design patterns.
- Assess proposed solutions and provide security recommendations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform architecture risk assessments, security reviews and threat modelling activities.
- Ensure security controls are aligned with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Engineering, Risk and Compliance teams to embed security requirements from the outset.
- Contribute to cyber resilience and risk reduction programmes across the organisation.
- Support audit, governance and regulatory review activities where required.
- Evaluate third-party solutions and suppliers to ensure security risks are appropriately managed.
- Provide expert guidance to both technical teams and senior stakeholders on security-related matters.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable experience working as a Security Architect within large and complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of secure architecture across cloud platforms, infrastructure, networks, applications and data environments.
- Hands-on experience conducting security assessments, design reviews and threat modelling exercises.
- Experience defining security requirements, standards and reference architectures.
- Strong knowledge of information security governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.
- Good understanding of industry standards and frameworks including:
- ISO 27001
- NIST Cyber Security Framework
- CIS Controls
- Zero Trust Architecture
- DORA
- NIS2
- Experience working within highly regulated environments such as banking, insurance, financial services or other regulated sectors.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and influence decision‑making at senior levels.
