About Spott
Spott is a YC-backed AI startup with its office in Leuven, Belgium. We are on a mission to transform the recruitment industry. Together, we're building the first AI-native recruitment platform (ATS & CRM) that empowers agency recruiters to close more placements and help everyone find the right job more easily.
Why?
Recruitment is a $700B+ industry still running on outdated methods. The biggest players are slow to innovate. Spott isn't a tool that will be added to legacy software, it is a full reset. We are the core operating software. AI-native, fast, scalable, and personal.
What You’ll Do
- You have a Master's degree in IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering and preferably at least 2 years of experience in backend development
- You want to be in front of customers. You can sit with the leadership team of a recruitment agency, understand how they actually work, and translate that into something we can build
- Passion for solving complex technical challenges and designing scalable software.
- Experience building AI driven applications (prompt engineering and/or fine tuning is a plus)
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and happy to travel occasionally to customer sites
- Embed with our largest customers, learn their workflows in detail, and build what they need straight into the product
- Backend development on our recruitment platform, mainly TypeScript and Node.js
- Build integrations, data migrations and customer specific solutions, then turn the recurring ones into core product
- Act as the technical bridge between our biggest accounts and our product and engineering teams
- Set the technical direction for the parts of the backend you own, lead design discussions and review code to keep quality high as the team scales
- Work in a supportive, open and fast moving environment where you learn and grow quickly
What We Offer
- Highly competitive salary and a meaningful stock option package
- An exciting opportunity to work with the latest technologies and AI models on challenging problems, from a technical and a business logic perspective
- A role with significant responsibility, full ownership of critical systems, and tangible impact on product and company direction, within a highly ambitious team
- Great team vibe with regular dinners, sports activities and international offsites
About the interview process

Overall, if joining an “San Francisco/YC company in Belgium” sounds appealing to you, then you should apply - even if you don't match all criteria
