Spott, based in Leuven, Belgium, is seeking a backend engineer to shape the platform using TypeScript and Node.js and translate customer needs into scalable solutions. You will collaborate with leadership and clients to align architecture with business goals.

You will work with AI-driven applications, travel occasionally to customer sites, and own critical backend components while driving code quality and delivery velocity.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in IT/CS/SE is required.
• At least 2 years of backend development experience.
• Experience building AI-driven applications is a plus.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.

Responsabilités

• Backend development on our recruitment platform using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Build integrations, data migrations and customer-specific solutions.
• Act as the technical bridge between customers and product/engineering teams.
• Set the technical direction for backend components you own and review code for quality.

What You’ll Do

• You have a Master's degree in IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering and preferably at least 2 years of experience in backend development
• You want to be in front of customers. You can sit with the leadership team of a recruitment agency, understand how they actually work, and translate that into something we can build
• Passion for solving complex technical challenges and designing scalable software.
• Experience building AI driven applications (prompt engineering and/or fine tuning is a plus)
• You are comfortable with ambiguity and happy to travel occasionally to customer sites
• Embed with our largest customers, learn their workflows in detail, and build what they need straight into the product
• Backend development on our recruitment platform, mainly TypeScript and Node.js
• Build integrations, data migrations and customer specific solutions, then turn the recurring ones into core product
• Act as the technical bridge between our biggest accounts and our product and engineering teams
• Set the technical direction for the parts of the backend you own, lead design discussions and review code to keep quality high as the team scales
• Work in a supportive, open and fast moving environment where you learn and grow quickly
