Jensen Hughes in Gent seeks a Fire Simulation Engineer to advance safety through sophisticated fire simulations. You will develop and run models for fire behaviour, smoke, and heat release, collaborating with architects and engineers to integrate safety into designs.

The role requires a degree in Fire Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years in fire simulation, and proficiency with FDS and PyroSim. Dutch and English are mandatory; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: A degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in fire simulation or a related area.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in fire simulation software FDS, PyroSim; Python coding desirable; Pathfinder and IDA preferred.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in fire safety engineering or risk management are advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.
• Language Skills: Dutch and English are required; French advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Conduct Fire Simulations: Develop and execute fire simulation models to assess fire behaviour, smoke movement, and heat release rates.
• Data Analysis: Analyse simulation results to provide insights and recommendations for fire safety strategies and design improvements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate fire safety measures into building designs and systems.
• Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations that communicate simulation findings and recommendations to clients and project teams.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all simulations and recommendations comply with local and international fire safety regulations and standards.
• Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest fire safety technologies and methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of simulation techniques.
• Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, present findings, and address any concerns related to fire safety.
