# FinOps PractitionerWaregemFinOpsNot Specified06/07/2026Full-timeHybridFavoriteAccess Job## Job DescriptionAs a FinOps Practitioner, you will be a key enabler focused on maximizing the value and efficiency of our cloud investment. You will be the driving force behind cloud financial excellence, proactively partnering with engineering, finance, and delivery teams while overseeing FinOps governance. A key part of your role is bridging diverse viewpoints, connecting, for example, the infrastructure-provisioning engineer with the finance stakeholder reviewing the cloud bill and the cloud architect optimizing workloads with the decision-maker setting budgets. Your mission is not only to reduce cloud spend, but to advocate a culture of financial accountability and cost-conscious engineering across the organization. You will translate business objectives into formal FinOps driven policies within the platforms, tagging standards, and governance frameworks. You will trigger and assist on deep-dive root cause analysis on cost anomalies and overruns, then storyline the findings to associated IT Platform and Product Owners bringing transparency and awareness to our cloud economics and acting as a cost provocateur when necessary to drive excellence. By feeding business reviews and delivery discussions with compelling financial insights, you will guide the wider organization toward smarter, more sustainable cloud usage. Your role and responsibilities Insight Generation & Cloud Cost Analysis Perform deep-dive root cause analysis to understand the drivers of cloud overspend, whether they are architectural, process-related, or governance gaps. Document findings and quantify the business impact of cost inefficiencies, effectively storylining the analysis to support prioritization and remediation efforts. Conduct thorough cost profiling on managed accounts to identify waste, anomalies, rightsizing opportunities, and commitment coverage gaps. Stakeholder Collaboration & Standard Setting Foster cross-functional collaboration by working closely with IT engineers, delivery leads, and client finance teams to define, document, and enforce clear FinOps rules, tagging standards, and cost allocation models. Translate business and commercial requirements into technical specifications that enable automated cost controls, budget alerts, and governance guardrails in cloud environments. Act as the key liaison between technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring a shared understanding of cloud financial principles and their impact on the business. Monitoring & Reporting Develop and maintain cloud cost dashboards and showback reporting to provide ongoing visibility into the health and performance of managed accounts. Drive shared cost allocations. Monitor actively FinOps KPIs over time, including savings delivered, forecast accuracy, unit economics, commitment utilization and report findings to leadership and clients Optimisation & Continuous Improvement Work with IT engineering and architecture teams to define and execute cloud cost optimisation initiatives spanning Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, rightsizing, scheduling, and waste elimination. Accountable for maintaining a view on the contractual commitment coverage towards the cloud reseller (e.g., DoiT, Elastic, Oracle). Support delivery and client teams in improving cloud provisioning and resource management practices at source, instilling a proactive cost-prevention mindset. Continuously evaluate FinOps tooling and practices to improve the team’s efficiency and the quality of insights delivered to clients. How to succeed / Your profile You possess a foundational understanding of cloud computing layers—specifically IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS—and demonstrate a strong commitment to mastering the FinOps discipline. Your background includes 1 to 3 years of experience in a cloud-related or financial role where you have developed a clear affinity for technology and data. Ideally, you are a FinOps Certified Practitioner or have the drive to obtain this certification shortly after joining the team. You are capable of assisting in the development of sophisticated cloud financial models, including budgeting, forecasting, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis. You demonstrate a high level of comfort working with cloud billing tools and reporting platforms to extract and interpret complex usage data. Your natural curiosity drives you to perform deep-dive root cause analyses whenever cost anomalies or budget overruns occur. You enjoy the challenge of translating broad business objectives into structured policies, tagging standards, and governance frameworks. You have a meticulous eye for detail that ensures cloud economics are transparent and that financial insights are based on accurate, well-governed data. You excel at turning raw data into compelling “storylines” that help IT platform and product owners understand the business value behind their cloud spend. You act as a vital bridge between diverse departments, successfully connecting the technical world of infrastructure engineers with the financial world of budget owners. You are comfortable acting as a “cost provocateur” who respectfully challenges the status quo to guide the organization toward smarter, more sustainable cloud usage. Your communication style is clear and inclusive, allowing you to manage stakeholder expectations and escalate critical issues with professional grace. You thrive in an entrepreneurial and fast-growing environment, bringing a down-to-earth attitude that fits perfectly within a family-oriented, innovative culture. You are a proactive advocate for a culture of financial accountability, leading by example to ensure cost-conscious engineering becomes a standard practice. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent by experience) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in a cloud, finance, or IT operations role direct FinOps experience is a plus but not required; curiosity and a willingness to learn the discipline matters more. A high-level understanding of cloud computing services across its service layers—IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS. Basic familiarity with financial management principles—budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis—whether gained through work experience, academic study, or personal interest. Comfortable working with data: able to query, manipulate, and interpret datasets to surface insights. Experience with SQL, Excel, or similar tools is valued. Exposure to data visualization or reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, or cloud-native cost dashboards) is a plus. A highly analytical and problem-solving mindset, with a natural inclination to ask why costs look the way they do. Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. FinOps Foundation certification (FOCP) or a demonstrated willingness to pursue it shortly after joining is a plus. Fluent in English.
