Progressive is seeking an Industrial Controller to oversee financial performance for two Belgian manufacturing sites. You will translate site operational KPIs (OEE, yields, scrap) into robust financial insights and partner with Operations and HR on cost control, budgeting, and capex.

The role requires a Master’s in Finance or related field, at least five years in industrial controlling, and strong skills in SAP, Power BI, and Excel. Fluency in French and English is preferred, with Dutch an asset.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Business Engineering.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with solid experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial controlling.

Responsabilités

• Produce monthly closing reports for both sites within established deadlines.
• Analyze variances between actual results, budget and forecast.
• Identify drivers behind performance fluctuations and cost improvements.
• Translate industrial KPIs into financial impact for decision making.
• Develop investment business cases and monitor CAPEX projects.

More Information About Our Client

Our client is an international industrial group with a strong presence across Europe. To support the financial performance and decision-making processes of its Belgian operations, the company is looking to recruit an Industrial Controller to oversee two production sites.

Why This Role Exists

The company wants to strengthen its ability to translate industrial performance into financial performance.

Today, the sites primarily manage their activities through operational KPIs (OEE, yields, scrap rates, production volumes, downtime). The objective is now to provide clear financial visibility to support both strategic and operational decision-making.

The Industrial Controller will act as a true business partner to Operations and will actively contribute to decisions related to profitability, capital investments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Mission

Ensure the reliability of financial data across two manufacturing sites and support operational teams in their decision-making through relevant, business-focused financial analysis.

You will serve as the link between industrial operations and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Management Control & Reporting

• Produce the monthly closing reports for both sites within established deadlines.
• Analyze variances between actual results, budget, and forecast.
• Identify operational drivers behind performance fluctuations.
• Contribute to monthly reporting for Group Management.

Industrial Cost Control

• Lead and maintain the Standard Costing process.
• Analyze material, yield, energy, labor, and capacity utilization variances.
• Calculate product costs by production line, product, or product family.
• Identify opportunities to improve industrial profitability.

Operations Business Partnering

• Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and HR teams.
• Translate industrial KPIs into financial impact.
• Participate in performance review routines and continuous improvement projects.
• Build and monitor industrial business cases.

Budgeting, Forecasting & CAPEX

• Participate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Develop investment business cases.
• Perform profitability analyses (Payback Period, IRR, ROI).
• Monitor capital expenditure projects and measure realized benefits.

Inventory & Stock Management

• Ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Monitor physical and cycle-count inventory processes.
• Analyze inventory variances.
• Track provisions and obsolescence risks.

Internal Control & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Group procedures and policies.
• Contribute to internal and external audits.
• Guarantee the quality and reliability of financial data.
• Support compliance with Belgian legal and tax requirements.

Systems & Data

• Use SAP as the primary ERP system for extracting and analyzing financial and operational data.
• Develop and enhance Power BI reporting tools.
• Build and maintain robust analytical models using advanced Excel.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data flows between Operations and Finance.

Candidate Profile

Education

• Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or Business Engineering.
• Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree combined with solid experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial controlling.

Experience in any of the following sectors would be considered an advantage:
