The DHL Global Forwarding Belgium finance team is seeking a Finance Controller who reports to the CFO and collaborates with the European Finance team. You will own the correctness of the balance sheet through the general ledger, oversee month- and year-end close, and ensure IFRS/local GAAP reporting.

You will be the single point of contact for auditors and lead governance controls while guiding the RTR team in Belgium and coordinating with offshore teams in India and Hungary.

Qualifications

• Finance generalist with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance.
• Relevant financial expertise with a focus on general accounting, internal controls/audit and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience in a corporate environment, preferably in the logistics industry.
• Catalyst of taking care/resolving finance matters.
• Hands-on approach / result-minded.
• Coach and challenge others / Go to person.
• Leadership skills / person that can represent the finance department and drive results.
• Able to give crisp and clear presentations towards higher management.

You report to the CFO and work closely together with the finance community in DGF Belgium as well with the European Finance team.

You are responsible for the correctness of the balance sheet by taking care of the general ledger accounting processes, and maintain oversight of all balance accounts (payable, receivable, IC, duty, taxes,…).

You are responsible for the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial activities/audits and IFRS/ local GAAP reporting.

You are the SPOC for auditors/accountants

You manage corporate governance controls and projects to mitigate financial and company risks.

You supervise and improve the internal reconciliations across all accounts and financial procedures and correctness of reporting (local GAAP and IFRS principles)

You are leading the RTR team in Belgium and are in close contact with the offshored finance service team in India and Hungary.
