Hitachi Energy is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join the Grid Integration team, based in Zaventem, Belgium, or Rotterdam. This field-based role leads final project commissioning from pre-commissioning to client handover, ensuring safety, quality and performance in high-voltage environments.

You will collaborate with global teams, mentor staff, and travel within the region as needed to deliver projects safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of commissioning engineering experience in industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and project documentation.
• Excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills.
• Leadership ability and a proactive mindset.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region and occasionally abroad.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute commissioning schedules, manuals, and test procedures.
• Deliver quality results on time and within budget, resolve issues and drive improvements.
• Produce documentation and reports meeting client and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with customers, third-party providers, and government agencies for approvals and sign-offs.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety tours; implement mitigation strategies.
• Mentor engineers, technicians, and support staff during commissioning activities.
• Support proposal development, technical sales, and contract scope assessments.
• Coordinate supply chain for commissioning tools and services.
