Résumé du poste

Political Intelligence Brussels is seeking an experienced Public Affairs consultant with a passion for EU energy, sustainability and infrastructure policy to join our team on a fixed-term contract (12 months, with potential extension).

You will be a trusted advisor to one of our clients, a global technology company, working at the intersection of Public Policy and Sustainability to translate regulatory developments on data centre performance into operational readiness.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years in policy coordination or programme management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, European Studies, Environmental Policy, or related field.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple teams in a complex organisation.
  • Familiarity with EU regulatory processes (energy, environment, or digital policy).
  • Strong writing: ability to translate technical inputs into clear briefings.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of DC operations and exposure to standards bodies (CEN/CENELEC, ISO) is an asset.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.

Responsabilités

  • Lead coordination of the EU's DC efficiency policy package with a cross-functional tiger team and the consolidated regulatory milestone tracker.
  • Coordinate readiness assessments against anticipated MPS and regulatory proposals – assembling SMEs, ensuring data availability, synthesising findings, and tracking gaps to closure.
  • Help lead baseline positions across key performance indicators (PUE, WUE, REF, waste heat, IT performance), coordinating SME input into clear, defensible positions.
  • Coordinate development of a reusable narrative playbook for public hearings, site acquisition proceedings, and planning fora across INFRA regions.
  • Coordinate participation in policy fora and events, including pre- and post-meeting briefings, and manage logistics for stakeholder events.

Description du poste

Political Intelligence Brussels is seeking an experienced Public Affairs consultant with a passion for EU energy, sustainability and infrastructure policy to join our team on a fixed-term contract (12 months, with potential extension).

You will be a trusted advisor to one of our clients, a global technology company, sitting at the intersection of Public Policy and Sustainability to translate regulatory developments on data centre performance into operational readiness. Your role will involve coordinating across the client's subject-matter experts and internal teams, rather than replacing them in technical fora, to ensure positions are developed on time and narrative materials are structured for reuse.

Are you looking to take the next step in your Public Affairs career? At Political Intelligence Brussels, you'll join a key player at EU level with a strong track record across energy, sustainability and digital infrastructure policy. With over 25 years of experience and a client portfolio made up of industry leaders, we offer the opportunity to work at the heart of fast-moving policy debates, contributing to how a global company positions itself on the performance and sustainability of its infrastructure.

If you're ready to gain knowledge on the EU policy sphere, make an impact, and work on issues that matter – you might be the consultant we're looking for!

Main responsibilities:
  • Internal Coordination: Lead coordination of the EU's DC efficiency policy package, managing a cross-functional tiger team and the consolidated regulatory milestone tracker.
  • MPS Readiness & Dry-Run Assessments: Coordinate dry-run readiness assessments against anticipated MPS and regulatory proposals – assembling SMEs, ensuring data availability, synthesising findings, and tracking gaps to closure.
  • Baseline Positions Development: Help lead baseline positions across key performance indicators (PUE, WUE, REF, waste heat, IT performance), coordinating SME input into clear, defensible positions and helping mechanise position management through digital tools.
  • Narrative Playbook Development: Coordinate development of a reusable narrative playbook for public hearings, site acquisition proceedings, and planning fora across INFRA regions, gathering input from Public Policy, Sustainability, and regional teams.
  • Policy Fora & Events Coordination: Coordinate participation in trade association working groups and policy fora, including pre- and post-meeting briefings, and manage logistics for stakeholder events and roundtables.
What we're looking for:
  • 2 to 4 years in policy coordination, regulatory affairs, or programme management – ideally technology, infrastructure, or sustainability-adjacent.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, European Studies, Environmental Policy, or related discipline.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple teams in a complex organisation.
  • Familiarity with EU regulatory processes (energy, environment, or digital policy).
  • Strong writing: ability to synthesise technical inputs into clear briefings.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of DC operations and exposure to standards bodies (CEN/CENELEC, ISO) is an asset.
  • Fluent in English, additional European languages are a plus.
What we offer:
  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment in a modern workspace.
  • A chance to shape the future of infrastructure and sustainability public affairs at a leading agency.
  • Competitive benefits, including extra vacation days and full health insurance.
  • Contract: Fixed-term, 12 months (potential extension based on business needs).
