The policy advisor role at A&O Shearman's EU policy task force in Brussels focuses on financial services, including banking, asset management, digital finance and sustainable finance. You will analyze regulatory developments and translate policy intelligence into practical client advice.

You will draft client updates, contribute to briefings and training, and build strong networks with policymakers and industry groups while collaborating across practices and regions.

Qualifications

• Degree in law or related field.
• 3–4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably within an EU institution or EU public affairs.
• Experience in EU financial services (banking, asset management, digital finance, sustainable finance) is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of EU law, policymaking, and the EU legislative process.
• Near-native level of English; additional EU languages are a plus.
• Proven ability to draft clear and concise reports and materials.
• Ability to leverage AI tools for monitoring, analysis and content production.

Responsabilités

• Track, analyse and anticipate EU legislative and regulatory developments relevant to lawyers and clients, with focus on financial services.
• Contribute to the Task Force's intelligence products and distill key developments and implications.
• Draft client updates and alerts on regulatory developments; prepare policy briefings and intelligence for client meetings.
