Takein in Gent is looking for a motivated student to join their dynamic team at the hotel bar. The position offers an exciting opportunity to learn and work in hospitality, featuring diverse tasks from serving drinks to aiding guests.

No previous experience is required, as training will be provided. Applicants should be at least 18 years old and fluent in Dutch. Flexible hours ensure that your study schedule is accommodated while gaining real experience in a lively environment.

TAKE IN is the hotelbar in the Nieuwe Dokken, a short walk from the centre of Ghent and right next to Dampoort station. By day, you’ll see coworkers with their laptops, lunch guests on the terrace, and by evening, locals at the bar next to hotel guests rolling in with their suitcases. A mix that makes every shift different.

We work with a young, driven team where the vibe matters just as much as the work itself. No rigid roles, no endless rulebook, just plenty of room to think along, learn and be yourself.

What you’ll do

You jump in where needed, and with us that means you learn a bit of everything. One day you’re behind the bar serving drinks, the next you’re welcoming guests on the terrace or helping out in the food zone finishing bar bites and sharing plates. You might even cover at reception. Boring? Never.

• Welcome guests and make them feel at home
• Take orders, serve drinks and keep the bar running smoothly
• Help with mise en place and keep everything clean and tidy
• Finish bar bites and sharing plates in our food zone
• Work side by side with a team that has fun and gets things done

Who we’re looking for

No experience needed, we’ll teach you what you need to know. What we are looking for:

• A friendly way with people and genuine interest in helping them
• Energy and a positive mindset, even during a busy shift
• A team player who’s not afraid to get stuck in
• Flexibility to work weekends or evenings
• At least 18 years old (we serve alcohol)
• Fluent Dutch, a second language is a nice bonus
