About the job

As a member of the Google Cloud Communications team, you will collaborate with other cross-functional teams to communicate with journalists and thought leaders, develop specific communications materials and devise thought leadership campaigns. You'll understand the power of Google’s Cloud products and tell the story of how we help our customers innovate. You'll engage in face-to-face meetings with internal executives and external opinion formers, and develop print and web-based materials supporting these campaigns.

Google’s technical infrastructure, our global network of data centers and fiber‑optic cables powers all our products and AI capabilities across Alphabet. Our team promotes and defends Google’s technical infrastructure narrative, highlighting the community and energy initiatives that sustain it. As part of Google Cloud Communications within Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA), we inform and educate customers, partners, opinion leaders, and employees about product benefits, company values, and key public policy issues as succeeding in this fast‑paced environment requires creativity, strong organizational skills to handle tight deadlines, and a passion for engaging journalists, bloggers, and commentators.

As an Energy Campaign Communications Manager, reporting to the Director of Cloud Communications, EMEA, you will drive European Public Relations (PR) campaign initiatives supporting Google’s global infrastructure. You will partner with the U.S. energy campaign team, execute proactive PR and thought leadership across pan‑European and country‑specific levels, amplifying core narratives such as affordability and economic opportunity. You will collaborate closely with an EMEA communications agency, leveraging existing content while tailoring localized strategies to navigate Europe’s complex energy landscape. Additionally, you will lead knowledge management across the region, ensuring infrastructure stakeholders and campaign teams have access to current messaging, narratives, and proof points. We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick‑witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross‑functionally with partners across PR, Communications, Marketing, Product, and beyond. Individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
