Atlas Copco Group Belgium Antwerp in Wilrijk is seeking an embedded software engineer to design, implement, test and evolve high-quality software platforms for industrial control systems.

You will develop low-level components in C, C++, or Rust within Linux environments, debug issues from early testing to field support, and contribute to CI/CD and automated testing while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field
• Practical knowledge of embedded software development using C, C++, or Rust
• Understanding of operating system internals, real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded architectures, and Linux development environments
• Familiarity with software design principles, object-oriented design, and modeling techniques; scripting skills in Python are considered an asset
• From entry-level (including relevant academic or personal projects) to several years of hands-on professional experience in embedded software engineering
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills, curiosity, learning agility, and a continuous improvement mindset
• Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills with a high sense of ownership and accountability

Responsabilités

• Develop and evolve low-level embedded software components in C, C++, or Rust on Linux
• Troubleshoot issues from development testing to field support
• Perform root-cause analyses and preventive actions
• Apply engineering best practices: code reviews, CI/CD, automated testing
• Participate in architectural design reviews and maintain specifications
• Support recurring release activities to ensure long-term platform reliability
• Work in a hybrid model at the Wilrijk facility
