You will design and document electrical systems using EPLAN, produce schematics, layouts and wiring diagrams, and coordinate with project engineers to gather requirements and verify design assumptions.

Applicants should have an Electrical Engineering background, experience with EPLAN, and familiarity with European standards.

Role Description The Electrical Eplan Designer (freelance) will work on-site in Antwerp in a part- or full-time capacity, designing and documenting electrical systems using EPLAN software. Daily tasks include creating detailed electrical schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams for power distribution and control systems, as well as updating and maintaining existing EPLAN projects. The role involves collaborating closely with project engineers and other stakeholders to gather technical requirements, verify design assumptions, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The designer will perform technical checks on documentation, support troubleshooting during installation or commissioning, and implement design changes as needed. The position requires structured project reporting, adherence to deadlines, and consistent coordination with the wider project team.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Electrical Design skills, including experience creating schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams in EPLAN or similar CAD tools.
• Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Electricity fundamentals, including circuit behavior, protection concepts, and relevant safety standards.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Electrical Engineering, with the ability to interpret technical specifications and apply engineering principles to practical designs.
• Candidates should possess skills in Power Distribution, including low-voltage and medium-voltage systems, load calculations, and selection of appropriate components.
• Candidates should possess understanding of Power Systems, including network configurations, short-circuit analysis, and coordination of protection devices.
• Relevant experience with industrial or commercial projects and familiarity with European electrical standards (e.g., IEC) are beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams are required.
• A degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field, along with prior EPLAN experience, is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in English (and preferably Dutch) and strong communication skills are advantageous for interacting with clients and project stakeholders.
